FAQ

  • Where can people be dropped off and picked up?
For drop-off and pick-up, enter with all other vehicles at the Route 83 entrance, then proceed to the designated drop-off/pickup area near the entrance to the Fitness Center. Police will not allow vehicles to park or linger in this area; so, make sure your party is waiting for you before you enter the area.
  • Are dogs allowed at Buffalo Grove Days?
The Village municipal code 6.12.130 prohibits "any dog, even though on a leash, to be in or on any public property during festivals , or special events." The only exception is for trained and registered service animals.
  • Is smoking allowed at Buffalo Grove Days?
Buffalo Grove Park District ordinance 1.23 prohibits smoking or vaping on Park District property, which means the entire fest is a nonsmoking environment. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Will there be a parade?
Yes. The Buffalo Grove Days Parade is set to return Sunday, September 1 at noon. This year's route will head south on Buffalo Grove Road (from LaSalle), west on Deerfield Parkway, ending at Mike Rylko Community Park where the rest of the BG Days activities are held. For more details on how your business or organization can join the celebration and participate, visit the activities page.
  • Will the Barbeque Challenge be back?
The Barbeque Challenge has been discontinued. Look for other fun activities planned this year in the menu!
  • Is there a Car Show this year?
Not this year. The area where the Car Show has been held was recently seeded with new grass near the pavilion and amphitheater improvements. The grass is not ready to withstand that type of activity, but as long as logistics align, the Car Show will return in 2025.
  • Will there be fireworks?
Unfortunately, no. Due to the proximity of homes to the festival grounds, it is not safe to conduct a fireworks show at Mike Rylko Community Park. Many years ago, fireworks were held at Buffalo Grove Golf Course when BG Days was on the village campus. A fireworks show at the golf course would not be visible from the current festival grounds. It would also overburden the police and fire resources by having to support crowd management at both locations. You can always catch a fireworks show on the Fourth of July at Willow Stream Park!
